Phoenix Contact has expanded its QUINT SFB industrial Power Supplies to include a 20A output at 12VDC version. This newest Phoenix Contact power supply is appropriate for a variety of applications, including solar, wind turbine, telecommunications, and process control. The SFB (Selective Fuse Breaking) technology allows supplemental branch circuit protection on the DC bus to operate as designed in a control system. Upon sensing a fault condition, the SFB technology delivers a short peak of current (up to six times nominal current) to the faulted load. This ensures the standard branch protection interrupts the circuit as designed.

Phoenix Contact Quint SFB (selective fuse braking) power supplies provide up to six times the nominal output current rating for 12ms, so individual circuit protection can react to a fault condition and prevent the entire DC bus from collapsing.
