Apogee Semiconductor AP54RHC505 Rad-Hard 5-Ch Translators w/Bus Hold

Apogee Semiconductor AP54RHC505 Rad-Hard 5-Channel Level Translators with 3-state outputs and buskeepers are designed for space, medical imaging, and other applications requiring radiation tolerance and high reliability. The radiation-hardened by design AP54RHC505 Level Translators are fabricated in a 180nm CMOS process, delivering high resiliency to single-event effects (SEE) and to a total ionizing dose (TID) up to 30krad (Si).

The Apogee Semiconductor AP54RHC505 Rad-Hard 5-Channel Level Translators are part of the AP54RHC logic family operating across a voltage supply range of 1.65V to 5.5V. The AP54RHC505 can operate across this voltage supply range on its supply voltage inputs, VCCA and VCCY.

The output enable control pin facilitates outputs placed in a high impedance (high-Z) state, simplifying usage in applications with shared busses or mixed power domains. Furthermore, the outputs are placed in high-Z when VCCA is absent, ensuring that no loading or leakage paths are experienced at the output nodes when the input rail is not powered.

The AP54RHC505 supports zero-power penalty™ cold-sparing along with Class 2 ESD protection on all inputs and outputs. A proprietary output stage and full power-on reset (POR) circuit allow the AP54RHC505 to be cold-spared in any redundant configuration with no static power loss on any device pad. The redundant output stage also features a high drive capability with low static power loss.

The AP54RHC505 also features a triple-redundant design throughout its entire circuitry, which allows it to be immune to single-event transients (SET) without requiring additional redundant devices. The AP54RHC505 is available in an SMD TSSOP-14 package with an extended operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.

Rad-Hard Overview
