Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ Overvoltage Protectors

Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ Overvoltage Protector Series is a range of devices designed to limit overvoltages on telephone lines. The Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ devices are symmetrical voltage-triggered bidirectional thyristors that provide 2-point protection against overvoltages normally caused by AC power system or lightning flash disturbances. When the voltage rises to the breakover level, these Bourns overvoltage protectors will clamp and switch into a low-voltage on state, which causes the current resulting from the overvoltage to be safely diverted through the device. The high crowbar holding current helps prevent DC latchup as the diverted current subsides. The 2-point protection design makes the Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ overvoltage protector well-suited for 2-wire telecommunication equipment. Combinations of devices can be used for multi-point protection.
