MaxLinear I²C/SPI UARTs

MaxLinear I²C/SPI UARTs include a simple 2-wire (I2C) or 4-wire (SPI) interface. The I²C/SPI UARTs additionally offer 64bytes or 128bytes of transmit and receive FIFOs. The devices have an operating supply voltage from 1.62V to 3.63V.

The XR20M1280 (M1280) is a single-channel I2C/SPI UART with integrated level shifters and 128bytes of transmit and receive FIFOs. The XR20M1172 operates from 1.62V to 3.63V. The Independent TX/RX Baud Rate Generator feature allows the transmitter and receiver to operate at different baud rates. The M1280 has programmable transmit and receive FIFO trigger levels, automatic hardware and software flow control, and data rates of up to 24Mbps.

The XR20M1172 is a high-performance two-channel UART with 64byte TX and RX FIFOs and a selectable I2C/SPI slave interface. The XR20M1172 operates from 1.62V to 3.63V. The standard features include 16 selectable TX and RX FIFO trigger levels, automatic hardware (RTS/CTS) and software (Xon/Xoff) flow control, and a complete modem interface. The XR20M1172 is available in the 32-pin QFN and 28-pin TSSOP packages.

The XR20M1170 is a high-performance UART with 64byte TX and RX FIFOs and a selectable I2C/SPI slave interface. The XR20M1170 operates from 1.62V to 3.63V. The enhanced features in the XR20M1170 include a programmable fractional baud rate generator, an 8X and 4X sampling rate that allows for a maximum baud rate of 16Mbps at 3.3V. The XR20M1170 is available in the 24-pin QFN, 16-pin QFN, 24-pin TSSOP, and 16-pin TSSOP packages.
